كالعادة أفكر في اللامعقول و غالبا ما تبوء تلك الأفكار بالفشل، إما لفساد الفرضيات التي قامت عليها الفكرة أو لاستحالة تنفيذها أو لكسل و فتور يقفان عقبة أمام استكمال الفكرة. و لكي تنتفي الحالة الأخيرة التي ربما تتحول لنجاح، اسمحوا لي باستعراض تلك الفكرة العجيبة.

قد تكون مستوحاة بعض الشيء من ممر التنمية للدكتور فاروق الباز و من قناة السويس في الوقت ذاته، مع بعض الاختلافات هنا و هناك.

الفكرة باختصار هي حفر قناة بحرية بطول الصحراء الغربية في مصر بداية من العلمين مرورا بمنخفض القطارة ثم الواحات الخارجة و انتهاء بمنطقة قريبة بعض الشيء من أبو سمبل،

إذن فهي ممر مائي يختلف عن ممر التنمية أن المياء الذي يفيض فيه ماء بحر مالح و ليس فرعا صناعيا لنهر النيل، و يختلف عن قناة السويس أنه ينتهي في الصحراء و لا يصب في بحر آخر.

كيف يمكن لمشروع بهذه الضخامة أن يساهم في اقتصاد و إنتاج مصر؟ حقيقة هي مجرد فرضيات غير مدروسة علميا و لم أستشر أي من المتخصصين في مدى الاستفادة منها أو قابليتها للتنفيذ، و استعراضي للفكرة قد يكون طلبا من أي من المطلعين أو المتخصصين أن يجيبوا على تلك التساؤلات أو أن يفندوا نجاعة تلك الفكرة.

بداية، لو اعتبرنا القناة البحرية ممرا مائيا لسير الزوارق المتوسطة من منطقة العلمين و حتى أبو سمبل، فهذه فائدة لوجيستية تساهم إلى حد ما في تسهيل حركة نقل البضائع و الركاب من و إلى كل من الوادي و أبو سمبل، مما يشجع إعمار تلك المناطق و تذلليل بعض العقبات أمام الهجرة الداخلية إليها. كما أن اقتراب الممر المائي من الواحات و مزارع توشكى من شأنه أن يوفر وسيلة نقل رخيصة و سريعة للمنتوجات الزراعية و بالتالي مساهمة إلى حد ما في الاقتصاد.

و بما أن المنخفضات التي ستمر بها القناة ليست وديانا فحسب، بل بها منخفضات متشعبة وواسعة، فهناك احتمال تكوين بحيرات مالحة في أماكن متفرقة محيطة بالممر و بالتالي وجود فرصة لتواجد ثروة سمكية سواء كانت طبيعية عن طريق هجرة بعض الأحياء المائية من البحر الأبيض أو عن طريق إنشاء مزارع سمكية في تلك المناطق بهدف الاستثمار و بالتالي توفر مصادر غذاء لسكان المناطق الصحراوية و من ثم توفر فرص عمل سواء للصيد أو لاستثمار الزراعة السمكية.

أضف إلى ما سبق احتمال تغيرات مناخية في المناطق المحيطة بالقناة نتيجة ارتفاع مستوى الرطوبة بسبب البخر و بالتالي فرصة هطول أمطار في تلك المنطقة و بالتالي توفير فرصة للزراعة المعتمدة على الأمطار، إلا أن فرصة الزراعة مازالت موجودة بدون هطول الأمطار؛ فمن الممكن تطوير سلالات من النباتات تتحمل ملوحة مياه البحر (الزراعة الملحية) مثل أشجار نخيل العريش التي تنمو على الشاطئ، فإن لم يكن فهناك فرصة لتحلية الماء التي ستوفر بديلا عن استخراج المياه الجوفية.

بالطبع هناك بعض التحديات أمام ذلك المشروع، من أهمها احتمال تسرب المياه المالحة للأحواض التي تخزن المياه الجوفية العذبة و كذلك ارتفاع منسوب الأرض عن سطح البحر كلما اتجهنا للجنوب. و لحل المشكلة الأولى يمكنن تبطين القناة المائية بالخرسانة و بالتالي تقليل تسرب المياه المالحة للمياه الجوفية. أما بالنسبة لمنسوب الأرض، فبناء على الخريطة الطبوغرافية توجد منخفضات على شكر وديان ستوفر انخفاضا كافيا يمكننا البدء منه في الحفر و بالتالي تقل الحاجة لحفر عميق لضمان سيلان الماء.

كما ابتعدت عن المسطحات المائية العذبة لمنع اختلاط الماء المالح بالماء العذب.

هناك إشكالية أخرى في تنفيذ هذا المشروع، و هي الوصول لمرحلة استقرار في المياه و بالتالي انعدام تواجد أي تيارات تحرك الماء و بالتالي تواجد ترسبات ملحية في قاع القناة، و لا أجد حلا لتلك المشكلة حاليا إلا في محاولة استخراج الملح من الماء كما أن كل من البخر و الاستهلاك الصناعي و الزراعي يمكنهم توفير نقص مستمر في كمية الماء المتواجد بحوض القناة و بالتالي تواجد تيارات خفيفة.

هناك إضافة بالنسبة لبعض فوائد المشروع ، و هي أننا يمكننا نقل المصانع المتواجدة حاليا في وادي النيل للمجرى المائي الجديد و بالتالي تخفيف الجهد الحراري و التلوث على نهر النيل و استغلاله أكثر في الزراعة و الاستخدام الآدمي. فحسب معلوماتي، لا تحتاج المصانع المتواجدة على النيل من الماء إلا التبريد و التخلص من المخلفات، و هذا لا يتطلب ماء عذب إلا في الحفاظ على أجهزة التبريد من الملوحة و هي ما يمكن معالجته كميائيا، كما أن الدولة تستطيع أن توفر بعض الحوافز للمصانع للانتقال للمناطق الجديدة و بالتالي رفع الجهد عن النيل و تكوين تجمع سكاني جديد بجوار المصانع يمكنه رفع الجهد عن المدن و القرى القديمة.

الفائدة الأخرى التى يمكننا ساتغلالها لاحقا في توصيل القناة المائية الجديدة بامتداد لها في عمق السودان و باقي دول حوض النيل و هو ما قد يوفر فرصة للتبادل التجاري بين دول حوض النيل دون الاعتماد على الطرق البرية أو النقل الجوي.

بالطبع يشوب تلك الفكرة الكثير من القصور سواء لنقص المعلومات أو لنقص الخبرة لذلك أتمنى أن تصلني تعليقاتكم عن نفس الموضوع سواء نقد للفكرة أو تعديلات تعزز و تطور الفكرة

On the other hand, the other team complain that increasing salaries will end up with an inflation of currency, since more people will have the capacity to pay a certain figure of Egyptian currency, which started making sense to me in a way.

That meant that the person who used to earn x Egyptian Pounds, may earn 3 times x Egyptian pounds, the other richer person who used to earn y Egyptian Pounds may now earn y divided by some factor, while a third person will have a fixed income of Egyptian pounds call it z.

Let us consider one more factor; how many of those who earn x compared to those who earn y, and those who belong to the third group.

So the price of a certain commodity C1 would be the equilibrium between the average price everyone is willing to pay and the price the supplier is willing to put for this commodity. we all know the infamous two curves of Supply and Demand, where the intersection between them is the stability point of a certain Price and a certain Quantity.

The direct result of such change, is that people from the first group may afford buying more goods and services than before, while people from second group will lose some of the existing privileges of buying excess goods and services (which is sort of more just). However, people from the third group (pension beneficiaries, small business owners, and private sector workers), who do not fall under the wages curve, will lose their ability to afford goods and services they used to have before such change.

Add to the above, that there is a spectrum of wages from those who earn x Egyptian Pounds (the extreme minimum wage) to those who earn y Egyptian Pounds (the extreme maximum wage), will we apply a function to guarantee a continuous convergence curve, or we are to apply the change only on those who fall both below and above minimum and maximum wages thresholds?

Of course the supply and demand applies only in case of a free market model, which is not 100% applied in the Egyptian market, given the regulatory interference of government to set prices and subsidize some commodities. Which means that the difference in prices will be borne by the government’s treasury.

There must be a better way, to have better wealth distribution among the entire society, including the third group. If we are to chop off the ridiculously extreme high wages, those who would buy more than they need, and shift price tags dramatically, where the rest of society would pay a portion of the goods and services ending up in the trash cans, this would be good, I guess.

Meanwhile, I believe the other important factor is to guarantee abundance in essential goods and services, where people from both first and third group would afford more without even shifting wages higher, which means lower currency inflation.

Someone might ask me, “what do you know about economy?” and my answer would be “Nothing” except that I don’t get it with such insistence on pushing for currency related reforms without focusing on what currency should be capable of doing.

This leads to the other line of thought I had; if person A is a farmer who can produce food while person B is capable of transporting people and goods. usually person A would buy services from person B, and person B would buy goods from person A  (of course this is an over simplification, but just for the sake of the argument). However, during recession days, person A would lack enough liquidity to buy services from person B, hence may lose business. Meanwhile, person B, will face trouble in business because his customer (person A) is not capable of buying his services, hence, person B loses business as well, and in turn will not be capable of feeding himself!

Wait a minute! both A and B have whatever the other person is looking for, yet they both are out of business because of the lack of this medium called Egyptian Pounds, US Dollars, Euros or whatever currency? isn’t currency supposed to be some sort of evolution in economy? now it is dragging us from moving on!

In the above scenario, what would be the way out? would it be the return of bargaining? or some other economical system to guarantee streamlining business and proper distribution of goods and services among people? if person A wanted services of person B, they would say, I am willing to give you some of my goods in return of you transporting my products to the nearby market. if there is a deal, then we have business moving on without the need for  currency at this stage. some other idea would be a new role of a third person C, who’s role is to evaluate both goods and services provided by both A and B, and based on that they would say B’s service is worth N units while A’s goods worth M units per Kg or so. in return of such evaluation, C would get a share of both A and B’s products, sound’s sort of similar to currency, except that it is not deducted from a balance. that means C’s role is a service instead of lending funds, and the units used in evaluating goods and services are not placed in some bank or safe, it is more of a measurement unit, like using Kg or Liters.

If we expand the above model on a macro level, where the new role of evaluators comes into the new economical model, and every person in society capable of providing goods or services will refer to person C to ask them to evaluate their product. another role to serve this new model, is a person D who monitors gaps in market needs and advices new comers about what is needed by this circle of producers and consumers.

such model can co-exist with the current currency based economical model, to allow international trade and serving visitors. Meanwhile, unemployment would dramatically decrease. what do you think of that? Hate mail is welcome as well

ما توصلنا إليه خلال النقاش، أن المسبب الرئيسي للعجز هو الفساد الإداري، سواء المتعمد منه و غير المتعمد؛ فهناك الاختلاسات و الرشاوي و سوء الإنفاق و زيادة الرواتب لكثير من كبار الموظفين و هدر و سوء إدارة إلى آخره من أشكال النزيف في موارد الدولة. لكن تكمن المشكلة في مكافحة هذا الفساد. لأن الدولة في شكلها الحالي من عجز و فساد تغض الطرف عن الأسباب الحقيقية لإهدار موارد الدولة و تكثف جهودها على مكافحة أشباح أو البحث عن كباش فداء لإرضاء الرأي العام.

  إذن ما الحل؟ هل يمكننا كمواطنين عاديين القضاء على الفساد بصورة ثورية؟ في الحقيقة لا توجد لدي خطة محكمة. كان المقترح الأول هو استكمال الثورة، لكن الثورة بصورتها الحالية غير قادرة على فتح جبهات جديدة، خاصة و أن خصوم الثورة على دراية بالمناورات المستخدمة خلال العام 2011 و التي لا تخرج عن المظاهرات و الاعتصامات و الإضرابات و قد تنحرف تلك المناورات لبعض المناوشات التي لا تخدم مصالح الثورة بأي صورة.

أضف إلى ما سبق أن الشارع المصري في حالة إنهاك و إعياء كنتيجة حتمية لغياب الأمن و ضعف الاقتصاد، بل إن الكثيرين قد تراجعوا عن الحالة الثورية و منهم من كفر بها نتيجة لفقدان الوظيفة أو لإساءة تصرفات بعض المحسوبين على الثورة و نتيجة استخدام الإعلام في الإساءة للثورة لا سيما ميدان التحرير و تكرار عبارة أن مصر ليست التحرير. أضف إلى ذلك موجات الاستقطاب التي زادت حدتها بعد كل من الاستفتاء على التعديلات الدستورية في مارس الماضي و هذه الأيام في ظل الانتخابات التشريعية.

أعتقد أن الفلول قد استطاعوا أن يتعرفوا على السلاح الجديد لضرب الثورة، و هو ما يجب أن نحسن استخدامه في الفترة المقبلة؛ الإعلام مهم جدا في إدارة الثورة. الإعلام سيتمكن – بإذن الله – من إعادة الحالة الثورية و التحمس للثورة للشارع المصري، و كذلك سيبرئ الإعلام الثورة من الشائعات المنتشرة ضد الثورة و ضد الثوار، كما يستطيع الإعلام تخفيف حدة الاستقطاب و إعادة الفصائل السياسية لحالة التحالف بدلا من حالة التناحر. يستطيع الإعلام أن يرفع الروح المعنوية لكل من المواطن العادي و كذلك الناشط. يستطيع الإعلام أن يكافح الشائعات المتعمد إثارتها خلال الأحداث الهامة بغرض كسر الإرادة. يستطيع الإعلام تعريف المواطن بحقوقه و الترويج لحملات تصحيحية سواء للثورة أو للمجتمع المصري ككل.

و لا يجب أن يقتصر الإعلام على الفضائيات و الصحافة المطبوعة، فكلنا يعرف القيود الموضوعة على تلك الأوساط سواء قيود قانونية أو أمنية أو مادية. هناك صور أخرى للإعلام، منها الكلمة المتداولة و منها الأغنية و منها النكتة و منها المداخلة التلفزيونية.

نقطة أخرى مطلوبة و هي أن نعمل على “شراء” ود الشارع. أعرف أن هناك من يرى أن هذه المناورة رخيصة و تشبه الرشوة الانتخابية، و لكنها مطلوبة ليس لمصلحة شخصية أو حزبية، بل لمصلحة عليا و هي تطهير البلاد من الفساد و التخلص من آثار عقود من التبعية. يجب علينا أن نسدد خدمات للبسطاء باسم الثورة. و لو بزيارة قصيرة أو كلمة عابرة أو ابتسامة أو خدمة عامة.

لو استطعنا إعادة استقطاب الشعب المصري  لطرف الثورة  أصبحنا مستعدين لمكافحة الفساد بوقودنا الشعبي و بتواصلنا الإعلامي و بالتكتل الحزبي المترفع عن الخلافات في سبيل مصلحة الوطن.

To be frank, I was proud of taking such photos and proud of being there during the protests.

I was told earlier, that those who make it to Tahrir Square once, must come back some other time, and it was true; especially the Friday prayer with it’s strong speech full of energy and national pride.

So far the Freedom and Justice party list (Muslim Brotherhood party) claims 36.62% of the votes (total of 3’565’092 out of the 9’734’513 votes), next comes the Al Noor Party List (Salafi/ Orthodox ideology) claiming 2’371’713 votes which makes 24.36% of total votes, next comes the Egyptian Bloc coalition (made out of Liberal and Left wing parties) it claimed 1’299’819 votes which is 13.35% of total votes. Al Wafd party (first Liberal Party in recent Egyptian history) comes next with only 690’077 votes which makes 7.09% of total votes.

I tried to make some number crunching on the percentages against available seats (with some errors) by multiplying percentage by 112 and rounding the numbers to get some estimate, and the numbers looks almost like the below table

I hope this post is not that ugly, I will try to update the same post with more analysis based on party preference by governate/district since there is some deviation

Unfortionatly this person who uploaded such video closed comments on youtube, which prevented us from posting a small comment saying that “Mr. Okasha is against the Arab Spring from day one, and he is using his TV channel to discredit our revolution in several ways”

you can easily say that Al Faraeen TV Channel is an official counter-revolution channel.

I would say that calling him an Egyptian politician is an insult to Egyptians.
